Bulletin March 15, 2020

Welcome to Ridge Pointe!
It is our hope today that you will sense our love and devotion for God, our love
of great worship music to God, and our love of the timeless and powerful Word
of God. Have a blessed day as you worship with us!
Memory Verse
“And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both
he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. For in this the saying is
true: ‘One sows and another reaps'” (John 4:36–37).
Words Of Wisdom
Concerning John 4:36-37, Bob Wilkin wrote: “Jesus now launches into a
brief discussion of eternal rewards. Anyone who does God’s work,
“receives wages and gathers fruit for eternal life.” Wages (misthos)
refers to eternal rewards, not eternal life. The former is a free gift (cf.
4:10); the latter a payment for work done. Gathering fruit for eternal life
refers either to leading other people to faith in Christ (and hence to
eternal life) or to laying up treasure for oneself, which will be useful in
one’s eternal experience. In light of 1 Cor 3:5–15—which is surely based
on the Lord’s teaching here—the latter interpretation is suggested.
However, possibly the Lord meant both things with the one expression.
The work of God is a team effort. Neither the sower nor the harvester is
more important or more highly rewarded.”
