Words Of Wisdom 01-19-2020

Memory Verse
“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free …
Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed” (John
8:36).
Words Of Wisdom
The moment we believe in Christ for the gift of eternal life we are
redeemed from “the curse of the law” (Galatians 3:13). On the
cross, Jesus took all the punishment of all guilty lawbreakers (=
all humanity) on Himself and “became a curse for us.” Through
faith in Him, we are set free from this curse. However, Jesus is
not finished freeing us the day we get saved. There is another
way in which He desires to set us free, namely, from sin’s power
over us. As we come to “know the truth” of Scripture more and
more, the Spirit of God uses that truth to transform us into the
image of Christ (2 Cor 3:18). And when this happens, we are
“free indeed,” i.e., truly free!
