Words of Wisdom Feb 16

Memory Verse
The grass withers, the flower fades. But the word of our God stands
forever (Isaiah 40:8).
Words Of Wisdom
Isaiah 40 was written during a dark time in Israel’s history: the
Babylonian exile. God promised that Israel would flourish in a
Messianic Kingdom on earth, but this might seem unlikely to
Jewish slaves in Babylon. God comforts them, because while
bad things happen temporarily on earth, “the word of our God
stands forever.” Later, Peter reminds believers that just as God
keeps His promises to Israel, so also, He keeps His promises of
salvation: having been born again, not of corruptible seed but
incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides
forever, because… the word of the Lord endures forever.” Now
this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you. (1
Peter 1:23-25) No matter what happens, we can rest assured
that God’s Word is truth.
