Memory Verse
“Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For YAH, the LORD,is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation’” (Isaiah 12:2).

 Words Of Wisdom
This verse tells us the “secret” to overcoming fear—faith in God: “I will TRUST and NOT BE afraid.” Isaiah sees God as His “salvation,” that is, His deliverer or rescuer. When a person is drowning, they call out to a lifeguard. When a believer is being thrown around by the waves of life, she should cry out to the divine lifeguard—the Lord Jesus Christ (the word YAH here is short for God’s name YAHWEH). The Psalmist said: “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You” (Psalm 56:3). But Isaiah has an even better strategy: “I will trust and NOT BE afraid.” Since God takes care of sparrow and flowers (see Matt 6:30-33), He will take care of you. There is no need to be afraid!
