Jesus … said to him: “Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.” And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him; and all marveled (Mark 5:19-20).

Commentary
The formerly demon-possessed man was a fabulous example of discipleship—a fabulous example of a follower of Jesus! After being freed of the demons that plagued him, the man begged Jesus that he might be with Him. But Jesus directs him to tell others about him on his home turf! The man goes beyond what Jesus asked. He tells the entire Decapolis about Jesus! What an amazing follower of God! He who is forgiven much loves much!
