“There is nothing that enters a man from outside which can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man” (Mark 7:15).

Commentary
Nothing a person eats can make him or her spiritually defiled. What comes out of a person’s inward being is what defiles him or her. Jesus contradicted the view of the rabbis by stating that sin proceeds from within and not from without. A Jew who ate “unclean” food (like pork) was not spiritually defiled by the food, but by disobeying God’s OT command to not eat certain foods.

This will be our annual Thanksgiving meal. The church will provide the turkey and gravy, plus tea and lemonade. A sign up sheet is outside the office. To help with the side dishes and desserts, please see Becky Steller.

Collection Sunday is November 16th.

There will be a Christmas party on Saturday, December 6th at 10:30 AM. The party will be at the Vacendak home located at 4701 Breckinridge Court in Richardson. You can sign up on the sheet outside the church office.
