But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord (2 Cor 3:18).

Commentary
Paul says that when believers look in God’s Word and see the beauty of His Son, they will be transformed (see Rom 12:2). When believers look intently at and apply God’s Word, progressive change takes place—believers are transformed into the likeness of Christ. They experience an ever-growing glory through the Spirit of the Lord.

Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love .as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous (1 Peter 3:8).

Commentary
Peter regarded attitudes as foundational to actions. To “be of one mind” implies being cooperative when there are individual differences. We should be able to work together, like the different parts of an athlete’s body work together, to reach our common goal victoriously. “Compassion” for one another is a vital part of this. Like Jesus, we need to have deep affection for others!
