Memory Verse

Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach, and to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons… (Mark 3:14–15).
Commentary
In Mark’s gospel, each time Jesus climbs a mountain, it is connected with a significant event—choosing the 12, walking on water, the Transfiguration, and the Olivet Discourse. Bible scholars see mountains as places of solitude and divine revelation in Israel’s history (e.g., Mt. Sinai). Being alone to pray and be with the Father was extremely important to Jesus.

Welcome to Ridge Pointe!

Memory Verse

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days (Daniel 6:10).
Commentary
Daniel demonstrates his faithfulness yet again by continuing to pray to the Lord in total disregard of the King’s command. The text highlights that Daniel knew about the proclamation and yet
continued in his custom of prayerful worship knowing that the consequences could be his own death. An excellent reminder to make prayer and worship a staple of our lives in times of peace
and safety so that we have established habits and patterns of turning towards God to rest upon in the more difficult or dangerous times in our lives.
